Floyd Mayweather’s 18-year-old protégé Curmel Moton may as well have cashed his check before setting foot in the ring.
It took the undefeated prospect just 55 seconds on Saturday to dispatch overmatched opponent Victor Vazquez, who was competing for the first time since 2018. Moton has been touted as a future champion by Mayweather, who started working with the youngster after Moton showed up at Mayweather’s Las Vegas gym when he was only 10 years old.

From the second the referee said go, Moton chased after Vazquez, just looking to set up his punches without any fear of reprisal on the maid card opener of Mayweather vs. Gotti III.
Moton uncorked a huge left hand that rattled Vazquez and sent him retreating toward the ropes. That was all Moton needed to come after his opponent and end the fight early.
Another stiff left rocked Vazquez again and then Moton blasted him with a nasty right hook that sent him crashing to the canvas in a heap. Vazquez did his best to get back to his feet, but the referee already saw enough to stop the fight.
The end came at just 55 seconds into the opening round, as Moton moved to 5-0 in his professional boxing career with four knockouts.
