Muhammad Mokaev is going home again.

The undefeated flyweight, who exited UFC after his recent contract expired, has re-signed with Brave CF, the Bahrain based promotion where Mokaev spent the early part of his career.

Brave CF officials confirmed the news to MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz on Saturday.

‘’There has been an unjust persecution of his character and attempts to use defamation to feed personal vendettas, and is evidently clear that there are no clear reasons as to why the best athlete in the world cannot compete,” Brave CF president Mohammad Shahid said in a press release. “This is not what the sport is all about, and for BRAVE CF to have him back is fantastic, and he now can become a voice for all these challenges. Not only that, his return solidifies our ethos to have the best fight the best irrespective of any other variable, be it of creed, sex, color or marketability.”

“We would like to welcome back Muhammad Mokaev, an undefeated superstar, who is an amateur legend, with two IMMAF world titles, and someone who has proven to be the best Flyweight in the world, with no losses to his amateur or professional record. This is a very exciting time for Brave CF.”

Mokaev’s return to Brave CF arrives just weeks after his UFC career came to an unceremonious end following a win over Manel Kape at UFC 304.

Despite holding an undefeated UFC record and nearing title contention with his latest victory, Mokaev was not offered a new deal, which UFC CEO Dana White claimed was due to a myriad of factors outside the cage.

“There was so much bad shit that happened behind the scenes with that thing. Not good,” White said about a pre-fight incident between Mokaev and Kape ahead of UFC 304.

“Listen, the stuff that played out here over the last several months that started at the [UFC Performance Institute] and other stories of this breaking out, plus many other things. These guys don’t want to re-sign him.”

With UFC no longer an option for him, Mokaev returns to Brave CF, where he put together an impressive 4-0 record with one no contest before leaving the organization.

Now he returns with hopes to reinvigorate his career.
