Morning Report: Dana White laughs at Jake Paul’s Alex Pereira callout: ‘He sells 400 times the f*cking PPVs’

Jake Paul and Alex Pereira are not going to fight.

The closest “The Problem Child” will get to a possible clash with the UFC light heavyweight champion was surely the callout he made after his latest boxing match last month. It doesn’t help that UFC CEO Dana White has never been fond of Paul’s promotional tactics.

In Paul’s latest match, he scored a sixth-round TKO against former UFC welterweight-turned-BKFC star Mike Perry. Paul, 27, made sure to capitalize on the moment post-fight as he typically does. What caught everyone off guard was his surprising choice in the callout of the superstar MMA champion Pereira. All in-fight aspects aside, White believes there isn’t even a comparison when it comes to fight-selling abilities between the two.

“I don’t know if the commission would even let that f*cking fight happen,” White said on FULL SEND PODCAST. “Boxing or UFC? He would kick his f*cking head to another planet. It would be ... He calls people out for attention. Alex is a superstar right now. So Jake calls him out and Jake gets press.

“Jake says I’m trying to assassinate him and I said I’m gonna f*cking ... It’s all lies. It’s not true. Yeah, [Pereira is more popular than Paul]. He sells 400 times the f*cking pay-per-views. The Jake Paul fight that just happened didn’t sell any f*cking pay-per-views. They don’t sell sh*t for pay-per-views. I’ll give him this: It’s fascinating they keep getting new deals done with these guys that gotta be getting f*cked.”

White and Paul have had brief back-and-forths in the past around the topic of fighter pay. At least from Paul’s side, as the boxer has made several challenges to not just White but Conor McGregor.

Paul has had his eyes on MMA since he started his combat sports career whether that’s in the form of opponents in the ring or with a teased career and signing to PFL. The latter of which has yet to begin. Ultimately, White hears it all as noise from the Ohioan.

“He’s doing his thing,” White said. “He went out there and lied and said I would sign Mike Perry if he beat him, I’ve been trying to assassinate him. You haven’t heard me say sh*t about Jake Paul, and the only time I ever talk about Jake Paul is if I’m asked about him.

“He went out and lied and said I said all this sh*t. Do you think will all the sh*t I’ve got going on and what we’re doing I’m f*cking thinking about Jake Paul? I’m not. And I don’t mean that in a way to sh*t on the kid, it’s just the truth.”

Paul will return to action against 58-year-old boxing legend Mike Tyson in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex. on Nov. 15.
