Josh Brueckner got back in the win column with a devastating knockout.
On Saturday at James L. Knight Center in Miami, Brueckner faced FaZe Temper in the main event of Misfits Boxing 16, scoring a second-round TKO victory. Brueckner had been out of action for over 18 months since losing to Salt Papi in January of 2023, but “Boss” clearly used that time to work on his skills as he controlled the bout from the opening bell, bullying Temper around the ring.
After a back-and-forth opening round, Brueckner turned up the aggression in the second round, eventually dropping Temper with a short hook during a flurry of punches. Temper beat the count and continued, but Brueckner went right back at him, again dropping Temper to the canvas and this time the referee had seen enough, halting the bout at 2:52 of the second round.

The win moved Brueckner into the semifinals of the Misfits Cruiserweight Title Tournament, and afterward he called former NFL All-Pro Le’Veon Bell into the ring where the two exchanged some brief trash talk. Bell is also into the semis of the Cruiserweight Title Tournament, having won his quarterfinal matchup against Tristan Hamm back in May, though if the two meet it would not be until the finals.

In the co-main event, Misfits light heavyweight champion Anthony Taylor defended his belt, running roughshod over Samuel Ericsson en route to a second-round TKO victory.
Taylor was originally supposed to face Misfits owner and YouTube star KSI in a two-vs-one bout alongside Slim Albaher later this month, but after KSI sustained an injury that forced him out of the matchup, Taylor stepped in on short notice against Ericsson this weekend. The stoppage was only Taylor’s second in his boxing career and his first in Misfits.
