Jones vs. Garcia took place Aug. 17 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Craig Jones and Gabi Garcia squared off in the intergender superfight during the Craig Jones Invitational event. The fight aired live on YouTube.

Prefight: In case you missed it, Ffion Davies just merced Mackenzie Dern with authority. It was awesome.

Can this be equally as impressive? We’re about to find out. It certainly will be something, just not sure what. Superfight No. 2 incoming.

Round 1: Jones immediately dives on a leg (he also put on shorts instead of competing in a speedo, so that’s good). Garcia sprawls it and then as Jones moves Garcia is on on a body lock and driving. Jones rolls for the leg but Garcia smashes it down and Jones immediately gets a triangle locked on.

Oh no. No this is not fun. Laranja is now speaking to Jones and he’s listening, trying to move to a reverse triangle while Garcia defends. This is turning into the bad kind of gimmick. But Garcia breaks out and presses back in and Jones reverses to top half.

Jones goes for a leg ride roll to back take but Garcia defends to Jones stands and then tries to jump of. He does. Laranja is loud now and turning this into some pro-wrestling nonsense. Dueling foot locks now.

This has turned into a total joke. Garcia can’t actually compete with Jones and he’s in there messing about and he moves to the back with ease then tries to leg drag to an attack but Garcia goes for a toe hold. Laranja is so loud and so awful. This is not good.

Jones rolls into the truck and he has a twister available but doesn’t want that because that’s not what this is about. Garcia moves for a wrist and Jones still messing around in the truck as Garcia goes for the leg again then stands out passes with stunning ease in the the mount. Garcia rolls him and Jones just allows it. This is ugly.

Round 2: Jones wins 10-9 on all three judges scorecards.

If you don’t know who Renato Laranja is, count yourself lucky. He’s making this so much worse with the pro-wrestling stick.

Jones shoots and Garcia defends but Jones rolls octopus guard and immediately he’s into north-south. Jones moves around to side control and again goes for the truck. Moves into it easily and he tries to attack the twister. Gabi Garcia is an exceptional grappler and she can do nothing here. If Jones was trying this would be over, but he’s messing around and now he’s working on the Twister. It’s in and it’s just a question of whether he commits or not.

Garcia is not tapping and I assume it’s because Jones isn’t really trying to do this. But not he drops down for the calf crush from the truck. Garcia defends and Jones moves to the backpack and attacks the RNC. It’s across the chin but again, he’s not cranking on this. Jones readjusts, but nope then dives down to the legs. Jones is on a heel hook and doing whatever he wants.

Garcia isn’t going to tap and Jones isn’t going to actually hurt her, which is reasonable. So this is going to be a decision. Garcia now on an ankle lock but it’s nothing. Jones is legitimately flow rolling in there. Moves effortlessly to the back and attacks a choke and finally Garcia does tap.

That was gross. But they hug after it.
