Ffion Davies walked through UFC star Mackenzie Dern in the Craig Jones Invitational superfight, which went down Saturday night at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
Davies, who bursted into the grappling scene a year after Dern left the grappling world to focus on her MMA career, quickly ruched to take Dern down early, passing the guard and going back to mount to smash the UFC fighter from top position. Davies attacked her foot and took her back with seconds left in the opening round, but had no time to work on a finish.
Davies went back with everything in the second stanza and immediately took Dern down, quickly moving to the back and locking in an inverted triangle and attacking the arm, forcing Dern to tap to the armbar 44 seconds into the round.
